LH Travis emphasizes the importance of safety in every job we do. Here at LH Travis, safety is our number one priority, and we’re sure it is on your jobsite, too. Industry and construction carry some pretty serious risks to workers, so it is important to always take the safety of workers, clients and the public very seriously. No matter how simple a job may seem, there are ways to do that job safely so as to prevent injury to oneself or others.
Performing Lubrication Tasks Safely
Since most lubricants are oils or greases, there is an inherent danger to their improper usage. We shouldn’t have to tell you that oil or grease in the wrong place can be a major safety issue. At LH Travis, since we work every day with these slippery substances, we have a little insight on how to use them in the safest ways.
First of all, lubrication is generally used to keep moving parts moving smoothly. So whenever possible, make sure that those parts are NOT moving when you go to lubricate them. Pay attention to your surroundings, and be aware of anything that could move suddenly and without warning.
Proper storage of all lubricants is so important. The last thing you want to see on your floor is an unexpected oil slick! Even worse is when you don’t see that slippery spot and suddenly go sliding across the floor. Store your lubricants out of the way of traffic, in an area that is protected from the weather, and in accordance with all EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines.
We Take Safety Seriously
At LH Travis, we don’t play games when it comes to safety. When you hire us to install, maintain, or service your lubrication equipment, you know that you are contracting a company that will protect the integrity of your machines while taking every precaution to ensure the safety of all those involved.
